VFX Supervisor · Berlin
Erik Schneider
I have worked in the VFX industry since 2012. I started as a Compositor at Pixomondo, became a compositing lead at MPC and worked as part of the set crew for Isle of Dogs as a compositing lead, where I also helped develop the pipeline. For almost 8 years I worked at RISE FX where I became a VFX Supervisor and also contributed to the compositing pipeline, from the AOV setup to the delivery.
Since then I traveled to Wellington to work at Weta and back to Berlin again. I took some time off to learn in depth about AI engineering and fine-tuned a model that repairs bad edges in Nuke, wrapped as a plugin: bamEdge2. I am now working at Lumatic for a German sci-fi movie, where I developed a lens effect tool that analyses checkerboards to build a spatially aware convolve setup per lens.
As a side project I am building NextColor, an app for tracking bouldering and climbing sessions.
VFX
Stills are frames from studio VFX reels, trailers and featurettes. All rights remain with the respective productions and studios; they are shown here to document my own contribution.

Privacy Policy Datenschutzerklärung
In short: this site sets no cookies, counts no visitors, and loads nothing from other people's servers.
1. Controller
The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Erik Schneider
Grimnitzstr. 22
10318 Berlin, Germany
Email: erik@bewegtbildbau.de
2. No cookies, no consent needed
This website stores no cookies on your device and reads no information stored there. No analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising networks or social media plugins are used. That is why you see no consent banner here — there is nothing I would need your consent for.
3. Server log files
When you visit this site, my hosting provider automatically records data that your browser transmits for technical reasons:
- the address (URL) requested, plus date and time of the request
- the amount of data transferred and whether the request succeeded
- browser type and version, and operating system
- the referring page
- IP address
This data is not merged with other sources and is not used to analyse visitor behaviour. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in the technically sound and secure operation of the site. Log files are deleted after 14 days.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted by Netcup. The host processes the log data described above on my behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to third countries takes place.
5. Contacting me by email or phone
When you contact me, I process the details you provide (such as name, email address and the content of your message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. I delete this data once it is no longer needed; statutory retention periods, in particular commercial and tax obligations of up to ten years, remain unaffected.
There is deliberately no contact form on this site. Your email reaches me directly through your own mail program.
6. Fonts, images and links to other sites
This site loads no web fonts. The text is set in a typeface your own device already provides, so no connection to Google Fonts or a comparable service is made. All images are stored on my own server; no image CDN is involved.
Reels and trailers are not embedded. Where I link to YouTube, Vimeo or any other site, that is an ordinary link: nothing is loaded from those services while you are on this page, and no data reaches them unless you follow the link yourself. From that point on, the privacy policy of the site you land on applies.
7. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).
An informal message to the address above is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), usually the authority where you live or where I am established: the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
8. Changes to this policy
I update this policy whenever the site or the legal situation changes. Last updated: September 2026.
